4 prong heads with post. Seats are already cut for stones. Makes setting stones a "snap" Great for casting stones in place. Perfect for adding small accent stones to any wax. Eyes for animals, mothers rings, anywhere you want to add a stone. Use post to help position in wax, poke or drill a small hole and place post through hole, blend/melt head into position. Can be added to any wax design.

New "Reservoir Sprues"

After Metal is cast and begins cooling, it shrinks.  A large mass of metal cooling will "draw" or "suck" metal away from a smaller mass.

The excess metal or "button" can actually draw metal away from a casting leaving porosity or pitting where the sprue is attached to the casting.

How many times have you had pitting or porosity where the sprue is attached to the ring?  Have you had a shank break where the sprue is attached?

The "reservoir" on  the sprue acts as a "buffer" between the button and the casting and allows the button and the casting to draw from the smaller "reservoir" on our sprues.  This type of sprue can help the quality of your castings at the point where the sprue is attached to the casting.

These type of sprues were introduced by a company called Wilk-Craft in the late 1960's.  They were used widely in steam casting, air pressure casting, vacuum and centrifugal casting.  The company closed in the late 1970's and these sprues were no longer available.

Wilson's/TCD now offers this unique reservoir sprue and offers it in 2 sizes, 2mm for charms pendants and lightweight castings and 3mm for ring castings.  They are available in packages of 10 for $2.00 per package or a package of 100 for $12.95.  Try them out, you will see for yourself that "reservoir sprues" will help improve the quality of your castings.
